Learning How To Love As Christ Loved
John Chapter 13 Verse 35 (NLT) says “Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”
The Bible clearly tells us that Love is the fulfillment of the law. It is the very essence of who and what God is!!
1 John Chapter 4 verse 16 (NLT) says “We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love.
God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.”
It is a no “brainer” that Christians must be loving. But sometimes as time goes on and we are drowned by what is going on in the world, work and much more we loose the Pure True meaning of Love. We are caught up in paying bills providing for our OWN families that some of us forget its not all about us but actually the complete opposite we are called to provide for others.
Mark Chapter 12 verses 29 through 31 (NLT) says “Jesus replied, “The most important commandment is this: ‘Listen, O Israel! The Lord our God is the one and only lord. And you must love the lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength. The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’No other commandment is greater than these.”
There is always someone in need in the church. There is always someone in need of a blessing. It is very common by human nature we help people!! but it tends to be to those easy for us to love like our immediate family and our beloved friends. But without even recognizing it, we disregard the needs of those who don’t qualify as best friends or family-even though they are our FAMILY in Christ. But before you ever knew Christ He sacrificed himself for you! Before He had a relationship with you, He was seeking to deliver you!! Wow that is a very sobering thought! Christ Died On The Cross For Us Before We even knew Him, Loved Him what an amazing God we serve!! Hallelujah!!!
if we are to Love as Christ Loved we must have open eyes and listening ears for those who need deliverance around us!! Yes there are many brethren who need it, and it is always good to start with the actual household of God!
Galatians Chapter 6 verses 1-10 (NLT) says “Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself.2Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ. If you think you are too important to help someone, you are only fooling yourself. You are not that important.
Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else. For we are each responsible for our own conduct.
Those who are taught the word of God should provide for their teachers, sharing all good things with them.
Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. THEREFORE, WHENEVER we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the FAMILY of faith.
But we gotta ask ourselves does God really call us to offer our lives for our brethren?? is this really what we signed up for?? Or maybe this is only a special love God has toward us?? Lets go back to the word of God aka the bible and see what The Lord has to say
1 John Chapter 3 verse 16 (NLT) says “ We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters.
So we must be willing to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters in Christ. But what a minute… is this calling in the sense of life & death only?? Or are we Required to share the things of this world to produce equality among us?? Hhmm lets see what the Lord has to say
1 John chapter 3 verses 17 through 18 (NLT) says “If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion—how can God’s love be in that person?
Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.
This sense of equality doesn’t really hit home with current/modern day mind. Today we are all so focused on furthering OURSELVES that we neglect to love one another fervently in OUR times of need. This train of thought or way of thinking is not 100 percent our fault it has been given to us from our ancestors and current influence of cultures around us, such as “the American dream” and I am sure you can name a million more lines for get rich in America blah blah blah. But Yeah, Sure, we will give a buck to the homeless brethren even buy them a meal, but what about a home for instance.. if we are to meet his need then we should be giving him a place to live. This example seems VERY STRONG but it is that REAL!!
James Chapter 2 verse 5 (NLT) says “Listen to me, dear brothers and sisters. Hasn’t God chosen the poor in this world to be rich in faith? Aren’t they the ones who will inherit the Kingdom he promised to those who love him? “
James Chapter 1 Verse 9 (NLT) says “ Believers who are poor have something to boast about, for God has honored them.
James Chapter 2 Verses 15 through 17 (NLT) says “Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, and you say, “Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well”—but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do?
So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.
Psalm 41 Verses 1 through 3 (NLT) says Oh, the joys of those who are kind to the poor!
The lord rescues them when they are in trouble.
2The lord protects them
and keeps them alive.
He gives them prosperity in the land
and rescues them from their enemies.
3The Lord nurses them when they are sick
and restores them to health.
Matthew Chapter 5 verse 3 (NLT) says “3“God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him,
for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.
Yet Christians today are absolutely terrified I mean frightened half way to death by just the thought of giving intil it hurts. We say to ourselves “ he is broke or homeless and maybe I will be too!! gotta make sure my self is first.
Always Seek The Lord Our God on what you should do. Never turn down an opportunity to love a brother in deed and truth. If you turn down this oppurtunity you are not made perfect in love. A spiritual person will seek to live by every last one of the fruits of the Spirit. And what is the first listed fruit of the Spirit?Love.
If then you want to be a servant of God, first thing first is to walk in love. If we abide in love then we abide in Christ. By abiding in His Spirit, Loves comes naturally and we become more of a spiritual creature
Through perfect love we fulfill the law and thus are justified. Through a pure loving heart we can see God. Lets read some scripture
Matthew Chapter 5 verse 8 (NLT) says “God blesses those whose hearts are pure,
for they will see God.”
And what better way is there to purify the heart than with the love of God?? But as we also read,
1 Peter Chapter 1 Verse 22 (NLT) says “You were cleansed from your sins when you obeyed the truth, so now you must show sincere love to each other as brothers and sisters. Love each other deeply with all your heart.
Seeing that love both justifies us and purifies us lets make it our ultimate goal to grow in love always! We must pursue the full meaning of it and grow in equality toward one another. Love doesnt beat around the bush or lie, it hits straight to the hear and fulfills the need.
Is someone needs somewhere to call home and you have been blessed with a Home from our Father in Heaven then give them a home. If they need food, feed them give thwm what they need if your in the position to do so, dont judge them or ask questions just be obedient to God. JESUS tells you to give food and drink to your enemy and show them love. If then He commands us to meet the needs of our enemies, how much more so should we meet the needs of our brothers and sisters in Christ???
Are we not One Body In Christ?? Are we not a family in Christ?? And what do loving families do?? they have equality with each other! Even when they are very old if a sibling is in need of anything they support each other. This is what a loving family does and we are commanded to be perfect in God’s Love. But does the Word Of God Really calls us to Equality?? lets go to the bible..
2 Corinthians Chapter 8 verses 13 through 15 (NLT) says “Of course, I don’t mean your giving should make life easy for others and hard for yourselves. I only mean that there should be some equality.Right now you have plenty and can help those who are in need. Later, they will have plenty and can share with you when you need it. In this way, things will be equal. As the Scriptures say,
“Those who gathered a lot had nothing left over,
and those who gathered only a little had enough.”
If we allow God to lead us in our works there should be no reason for fear. If we can’t afford to help one another, then maybe we should bring others to the table who can. Many times people fear loosing and in fact prefer to watch a brother or sister suffer than rist the possibility of suffering themselves.
This is for sure not living out of the Love Of God, Love has no fear. But if we are to love our neighbor as ourselves, then we ought to lift a needy brother or sister out a pit of suffering. Don’t you realize that God has allowed them to go through this trails and tribulation?? It is a blessing to be able toseize the moment and Show God your Love you have for everyone and also I chance to prove your Trust in Him that He will do the same for you if it was vice versa. We should not fear the harm that might come on us, but take care of the person who is currently being harmed. Jesus loved us and sacrificed himself to deliver us knowing the harm He would receive. Nevertheless this did not stop Him, He still chose to love us
We should do the same as God leads us and convicts us, knowing that we have a Savior C who tests our hearts. If then He is testing us, then He has determined a way of delivering us by obedience. Only, let yourself be found faithful by the Lord and love your brethren perfectly
If we decided not to love because of lack of Faith or fear for what could happen, we know that the scriptures tell us,
1 John Chapter 4 verse 18 (NLT) says Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love.
Beloved, lay aside your fears, the Lord will take care of you. If we all give and care for one another, then even if you should fall into need there will be another to lift you out. But if we want to do the right thing in the Lords eyes, then we need to be the ones to take the first step, even if no one else is! There is no fear in love, there us faith. Faith that God loves you and rewards the faithful Faith that God is well pleased with a cheerful giver. It is not what we do religiously that justifies us, but it is both faith and love working hand and hand that justify us
Galatians Chapter 5 Verse 6 (NLT) say” For when we place our faith in Christ Jesus, there is no benefit in being circumcised or being uncircumcised. What is important is faith expressing itself in love
And lets be serious God loves a cheerful giver!!
2 Corinthians Chapter 9 verses 7-8 (NLT) says “And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.
Pray For God to open your heart and teach you how to be a cheerful giver and to sincerely care. God is well pleased in such things. Therefore, be a super shiny light to those around you, through loving-kindness. If you sow in love you will reap God’s grace and loving providence. It isnot having a perfect heart. Rather out of pure undefiled love we ought to give WITHOUT EXPECTING knowing that God intends to deliver us and provide for our needs.
2 Corinthians Chapter 9 Verse 6 (NLT) says “Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop.
Therefore Saints walk in love and God without a shadow of a doubt be your salvation in everything. Love is the very center of a Servant Of God, because God is the essence of love. Become the love of God towards every soul alive and learn to DIE TO YOURSELF. Love is the beginning of life in Christ and life is the beginning of a relationship with God.
